Raised in the outdoors, Ryan and Rusty Wascom learned the thrill of hunting at a very young age. Their father taught them the art of not only hunting but also the importance of having respect for the outdoors. Though Ryan and Rusty both enjoy hunting all kinds of wildlife, their true passion is hunting turkeys. Hunting wild turkeys brings with it a thrill that must be experienced to be truly understood.
Their father, Ricky Wascom, hunted wild turkeys for more than two decades before Ryan and Rusty were old enough to make their first hunt. With no question Ricky didn't hesitate one bit to pass along all that he knew about hunting these magnificent creatures. Whether it was the eastern turkey of south Louisiana or the merriam turkey of northern Nebraska, the Wascom boys traveled the country hunting with their dad, and by the age of eleven, Ryan and Rusty were able to accomplish their grand slam.
It wasn't long before Ryan and Rusty both learned the art of turkey calling which kept their dad busy making their calls. The two brothers participated in numerous turkey calling contests, often placing and many times winning overall. This love of turkey hunting and great talent for turkey calling landed them in sunny Los Angeles, California in 1999 as guests on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
